Line Cook - Sonny's BBQ

Essential Duties

  • Demonstrate mastery of Sonny's BBQ's specialized back-of-house (BOH) terminology, plating techniques, menu items, procedures, utensils, abbreviations, and methodologies.
  • Proficiently operate all assigned cooking equipment, including grills, fryers, and bread grills.
  • Accurately read orders and adhere to KDS protocols to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work station adhering to all food preparation guidelines throughout and at the end of the shift.
  • Effectively use a meat slicer and sharp knives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Maintain composure and efficiency under pressure.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Accurately handle cash and credit transactions.
  • Demonstrate reliability and flexibility in scheduling.
  • Willingness to complete all required company, federal, and state training programs.

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED

Physical Demands

  • Frequently stand for extended periods.
  • Regularly handle food products and equipment.
  • Effectively communicate with co-workers and customers, including active listening and speaking skills.
  • Constantly walk, stand, bend, lift, reach, crouch, touch, feel, taste, talk, hear, wipe, and smell.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 90 pounds.
  • Regular exposure to wet, humid conditions, and cleaning chemicals.
  • Required to maintain frequent hand washing.
  • Able to perform all essential job duties for an 8-hour shift.
  • Work Environment: Fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment requiring consistent human interaction and movement.
