Born from a small restaurant in New Orleans’ Mid-City neighborhood, Ruby Slipper Restaurant Group has grown to operate two brands with over 20 restaurants throughout the Southeast (and still growing!). Our concepts, Ruby Slipper and Ruby Sunshine, bring the spirit and soul of New Orleans to brunch. We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Line Cook to join our team at one of our locations. This position focuses on the Ruby Days restaurant concept, open for breakfast and lunch only!

Job Summary

  • Accurately and efficiently prepare hot food products.
  • Prepare and portion food prior to cooking.
  • Perform other duties in food and final plate preparation, including plating, garnishing cooked items, and preparing garnishes for hot menu items.

Qualifications

  • A firm belief that butter and bacon make everything better!
  • Ability to follow Ruby Standards and recipes consistently, ensuring consistent product quality.
  • Compliance with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintaining a clean and sanitary work area.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.
  • Excellent communication skills with managers, kitchen, and front-of-house team members.
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours).
