As a sous chef, you will play a crucial role in the successful operation of the culinary department, overseeing food preparation and cooking for a high volume of customers (3,000 individuals per service). You will collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop daily menu items, ensure quality control, and assist with ordering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Executive Chef in managing cost controls and account expenditures.
  • Plan and create innovative menus and execute catering events.
  • Roll out new culinary programs in collaboration with the marketing and culinary teams.
  • Supervise hourly associates and contribute to menu development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A.S. degree or equivalent experience.
  • Progressive culinary and kitchen management experience.
  • Catering experience is a plus.
  • Experience in high-volume, complex foodservice operations is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of institutional and batch cooking.
  • Strong understanding of food and catering trends, with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, and internet usage.
  • Willingness to participate in client satisfaction initiatives.
  • ServSafe certification is highly desirable.
