Responsibilities

• Prepare all food items according to the menu, adhering to strict safety and sanitation standards, under the guidance of the food service director.
• Ensure proper preparation, portioning, and serving of food according to standardized recipes.
• Prepare high-quality food products in accordance with standardized recipes and menus.
• Adhere to all safety and sanitation protocols.
• Prepare food promptly and efficiently at scheduled meal times.
• Address and respond to any community concerns or issues that arise in the dining room.
• Adhere to departmental procedures, including sanitation, safety, and cleaning schedules.
• Perform proper cleaning procedures and maintain storage of all dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment.
• Ensure all food items in refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage areas are clearly labeled and dated.
• Oversee proper food handling and utilization, preventing contamination, maximizing quality, and minimizing waste.
• Suggest menu or recipe adjustments to utilize leftovers and other supplies effectively.
• Maintain cleanliness of all food service equipment, kitchen areas, and food storage spaces.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Cook.
• Solid understanding of food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Demonstrated skill in preparing meals according to instructions.
• Proficiency in operating cookware, bakeware, and cooking appliances.
• Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor.
• Strong physical condition and stamina.
• High school diploma or equivalent; certification in food services is a plus.
• Must be willing to undergo a criminal background check.
