This entry-level position helps with the preparation of food in the casino outlets. All functions will be performed within the guidelines of the Saracen Casino Resort policies and procedures, Internal Control Standards, and objectives.

Essential job functions include:

• Maintain a consistent high level of food quality and guest service.
• Maintain cleanliness of all back of the house area.
• Complete simple tasks such as chopping vegetables, storing food correctly, and utilizing kitchen equipment.
• Read and follow prep lists.
• Ensure that all kitchen equipment is clean before using.
• Communicate respectfully with co-workers and follow direction from superiors.
• Meet the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to departmental and company policies.
• Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons, communicating in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner at all times.
• Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors and staff.
• Attend all necessary training meetings.
• Assist in other projects as directed.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• High school diploma.
• Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of employment.
• Some previous experience in a kitchen environment.
• Professional appearance and well-groomed.
• Must be a team player.
• Ability to respond to visual and oral cues.
• Ability to effectively interact with customers and employees.
• Ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
• Must be able to be approved for and maintain a valid gaming license.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Employment is contingent upon a favorable outcome of a background investigation and drug screening.

Physical, Mental, and Environmental Demands:

• Must be physically mobile with reasonable accommodations and be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino.
• Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights, and dust.
• Able to operate in mentally and physically stressful situations.
• Must have the physical ability to work with extreme weather as well as the ability to lift 50 lbs, squat, stand, or bend repeatedly.
• Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced casino environment.
