The rate of pay is $22.70/hr.

As part of our team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Producing all hot and cold food items for service in the restaurant and catering functions, ensuring that all are prepared according to Fairmont Grand Del Mar standards and specifications.
  • Maintaining control charts of all food items produced and a high degree of cleanliness throughout the cooking area.
  • Preparing food of consistent quality following Fairmont Grand Del Mar standards.
  • Dating all food containers and rotating per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Practicing safety standards at all times and cooking orders as requested, including special requests.
  • Controlling food waste, loss, and usage per SOP, and assisting in setting up plans to correct any food cost problems.
  • Checking pars for shift use, determining necessary preparation, freezer pull, and line setup.
  • Assisting in keeping the buffet stocked and in the prep work of vegetables and condiments as required for the next shift.
  • Returning all food items not used on the next shift to designated storage areas, ensuring perishables are covered and dated.

Each associate is expected to carry out, within their capabilities, all reasonable requests by management.
