Bon Appétit Management Company operates more than 1,000 cafés around the country for corporations, universities, and museums, as well as a few dozen public restaurants. We’ve led the industry in socially and environmentally responsible sourcing, from sustainable seafood to cage-free eggs. We cook everything from scratch using fresh, local ingredients.

To support our growth we are looking for a Catering Chef de Cuisine to support culinary quality, innovation, and experience of the program. You motivate, train, develop and direct team members to deliver delicious, nutritious food, exceptional service, and accomplish daily goals and projects. This position oversees the daily administrative and operational tasks, including financial management and analysis, food and workplace safety.

The Catering Chef de Cuisine will focus on culinary excellence for the Compass at Google Catering program to support operational excellence. This position reports into the Executive Chef and will leverage their strong culinary and operational skills to partner with key stakeholders (culinary, nutrition, marketing, behavioral science, concept development, procurement, risk management, operations and people approach) to promote standards, Food program expectations and enhance user (partner) experience.

  • Design, manage and own the overall experience, not just the offerings.
  • Have a passion for quality food preparation and taste.
  • Promote a culture of Food and Workplace Safety.
  • Follow all menu and production/prep expectations and guides, opening/closing checklist and responsibility guides.
  • Set an expectation of hospitality that is friendly and engaging.
  • Train and develop team members.
  • Ensure that all products and ingredients are purchased following sector and Food program purchasing standards and sustainability commitments.
  • Meet all timelines for payroll, service, accounts receivables, human resources, and all other time lines given by our partner and management.
  • Work with direct supervisor and Catering department to work within budget while maintaining standards.
  • Treat everyone with professionalism, care and respect.

What we look for in the good candidate:

  • Degree from a post-secondary culinary arts training program a plus.
  • Four years of professional kitchen experience.
  • Experience leading teams through catering production and service.
  • Strong passion for great food and hospitality.
  • Ability to follow strict Health & Safety standards.
  • Maintain a positive attitude under pressure and motivate team.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Google Suite.
