InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown is located in the Wilshire Grand building, standing 73 stories tall in the core of Downtown’s historic, entertainment, financial, arts, and sports districts. Ideally placed at the heart of the revitalized, energy-charged urban center of the United States’ second-largest city, the hotel provides first-class hospitality that seamlessly intertwines with the fabric of the burgeoning Downtown area.

Great restaurant memories come from many places. The sights, sounds, scents and, importantly, service. As a Banquet Cook, you’ll assist servers in providing fast and courteous service of food and beverage to guests by clearing and setting tables and performing miscellaneous tasks.

Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently prepare and produce hot and cold food for a la carte restaurant service as well as banquet and catering events while working in a fast-paced restaurant kitchen and/or production kitchen environment.
  • Understands proper food storage/staging, production timing, plate-up processes, dish-out processes and expediting procedures for restaurant orders and banquet events.
  • Works closely and effectively with back of house kitchen management to maintain a consistent high quality product in regards to food preparation, presentation and service.
  • Ensure that the highest level of guest experience is maintained at all times.
  • Maintain working knowledge and experience in food and kitchen safety.

What We Need From You:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in high volume kitchens preferred (hotel, resort, catering, restaurant).

This job requires the ability to perform the following:

  • Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Moving about the kitchen.
  • Handling food, objects, products and utensils.
  • Bending, stooping, kneeling.
  • May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holiday.

What We Offer:

The hourly pay range for this role is $21.99 to $32.98. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Los Angeles, California. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
