Job Description

Trilogy® at La Quinta offers spectacular mountain views, combining active adult lifestyle choices including golf, a fitness center, pools, an on-site spa, and Café Solaz, along with two club houses.

As a Cook 2, you will be a member of the Food & Beverage Team responsible for food preparation, cooking, and serving. This position reports to the Kitchen Manager or Executive Chef.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work and master one kitchen station; accept responsibility for personal decisions and actions.
  • Ensure superior standards of service meet the requirements of guests and employees.
  • Proactively exceed guest satisfaction.
  • Respond to and resolve challenges from guests or employees.
  • Follow a daily cleaning schedule and checklist to maintain a clean and sanitary environment.
  • Familiar with food preparation, cooking, and serving techniques; able to read cooking instructions.
  • Prepare vegetables and fruits for use.
  • Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes.
  • Bake, roast, broil, and steam various foods; adjust thermostat controls as needed.
  • Observe and test foods being cooked by tasting, smelling, and visually inspecting.
  • Carve meats, portion food, and garnish servings to fill orders.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Work Environment:

This position typically operates in an indoor kitchen environment but may work at outdoor events. The employee is frequently exposed to heat, steam, fire, and noise.

Physical Demands:

The employee is regularly required to speak, hear, taste, smell, sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, or stoop, and use hands for various tasks. Frequent hand washing is required, and the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
