Job Description

This position prepares all food orders in a timely manner and in accordance with Harrah’s standards and kitchen/outlets guide specifications. Will also maintain organization, cleanliness and sanitation of work area and equipment in accordance with local USPH standards.

Our Ideal Candidate must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team, present a well-groomed appearance, and bring personal tools is a plus.

The Role involves preparing and producing menu items to standards in a quick and efficient manner. You will prepare items such as salads, appetizers, Mexican, Italian, American dishes, etc. You will be responsible for:

  • Preparing, cooking, and seasoning all food.
  • Controlling food production in all work areas including proper cooking methods, times, and temperature.
  • Adhering to kitchen maintenance and sanitation programs.
  • Maintaining assigned station and equipment in a clean and sanitary condition.

A few more things to note:

  • Must be able to work inside a kitchen and on a fry line.
  • Maneuver around all areas of the kitchen and tolerate extreme hot and cold temperatures.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds.
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as stoves, grills, fryers, and broilers.
  • Respond to visual and aural cues and tolerate varying noise levels, illumination, and air quality.

Pay is $21.00 per hour, depending on experience. Harrah’s Resort Southern California reserves the right to make changes to this job description whenever necessary.

Skills Required extracted by

  • Ability to work any day of the week and any shift including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to obtain a San Diego County Food Handler’s Card.
  • Skills in fry cook, broiler, Garde Manger, and sauté.
  • Ability to follow a recipe and prepare items from scratch.
  • Coordination and dexterity to use kitchen utensils.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
