Located at Dorado Beach a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, this position involves managing the daily pastry operations. You will exhibit your creative baking and decorating talents by personally performing tasks while leading the staff in preparing quality and consistent pastries for all areas. Your role will focus on continually improving guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget.
You will supervise all pastry areas to ensure a consistent, high-quality product is produced, monitor sanitation and food standards, and identify the developmental needs of others by coaching and mentoring them to improve their knowledge or skills. Additionally, you will manage all pastry food preparation areas.
The candidate must possess a high school diploma or GED with 6 years of experience in a relevant field, or a 2-year degree in Culinary Arts or related field with 4 years of experience.

You will also develop new ideas and items for the pastry kitchen, maintain food handling and storage standards, and assist the Executive Chef with menu development related to pastry. The role involves preparing and cooking foods, maintaining knowledge of food trends, and executing cooking shows for guest audiences.
Providing exceptional customer service is key, as you will manage daily operations to ensure quality standards are met, support employees in understanding guest needs, and respond to guest problems and complaints.
Your responsibilities will include setting and supporting culinary goals, managing inventories according to budget, and training employees in safety procedures. You will also conduct human resource activities, including identifying developmental needs and reviewing staffing levels to meet operational needs.
