A day as a Cafeteria Cook:

  • Responsible for creating DO & CO’s products in terms of freshness, taste, and consistency to the specification of the Airline and DO & CO’s standards.
  • Responsible for understanding all cooking techniques such as prepping, roasting, broiling, braising, sautéing, grilling, etc.
  • Responsible for all standardized recipes and notifying the Chef/Sous Chef of any shortages or discrepancies in products or ingredients.
  • Able to read and execute company recipes within the time framed.
  • Able to coordinate menu and bring ideas to the table if necessary.
  • Supervise supply-chain systems: control timing of the food production flow and supervise the processing to avoid delays and lapses.
  • Comply with all food safety and hygiene regulations as stated in the food safety management system handbook.
  • Report problems with the food safety management system to their manager and the hygiene and food safety team.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
  • Upkeep and maintain food safety.

Who you are:

  • Minimum of 2 years of culinary experience in high-volume, full-service kitchens.
  • Proactive and self-organized.
  • Able to manage through a substantial workload.
  • Capable of working independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Able to complete assigned tasks within the given time to meet strict deadlines.
  • Able to accurately monitor wastage.
  • Flexible to work different shifts - night, weekends, holidays.
