A day as a Pastry Jr Sous Chef includes:

  • Support in producing and creating high-end pastry products served daily to hundreds of international airline guests.
  • Organizing production procedures and meeting all deadlines.
  • Ensuring all assigned responsibilities are completed by the end of the shift.
  • Pastry preparation and production (cutting, peeling, mixing, and assembling food items).
  • Plating and packaging food.
  • Reading, understanding, and following menu specifications.
  • Ordering food and dishes required for production.
  • Supporting with shift schedules when needed.
  • Complying with all hygiene, quality, food, and safety regulations and ensuring all staff adhere to it.
  • Assisting Pastry Chefs and Cooks with different tasks in the kitchen as needed.
  • Covering for Head of Pastry when needed, ensuring production and operations run smoothly as well as sending end of shift report.
  • Supporting airline presentations as needed.
  • Supporting during menu changes/cycle changes as needed.

  • Have excellent production skills for high-end pastries.
  • Knowledgeable of different techniques and cuisines.
  • Hands-on, motivated team member.
  • Able to supervise, motivate, and lead a team.
  • Result-driven.
  • Able to work under pressure in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Able to work independently and in a team.
  • Committed to always delivering an outstanding quality product while adhering to all food safety standards.
  • Have a high level of quality standards.
  • Excellent knowledge of food and beverage products.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Have a creative and innovative approach to problems.
  • Willing to improve internal efficiencies.
  • 4 years of experience.
