Do you have a knack for helping people, following recipes, and organization? Our prepared meal and rotisserie chicken associates prepare fresh food items daily for our members by following recipes and preparing our always warm and ready rotisserie chicken. We'll also count on you to properly wrap, label, and store merchandise to ensure our members have the freshest items available to take home to their families. There are times when you will juggle several tasks in a short amount of time while helping members with their bakery orders. Your smile can make the difference between a good shopping experience and a great one. You won't just prepare fresh food—you'll help a family have a great meal. What you'll do:

  • Be a Team Member: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product specifications related to prepared food merchandise; collaborate with cross-functional teams and help educate other associates on tools, tasks, and resources; communicate effectively with the members of the team; and be flexible to the needs of the business to work in other areas.
  • Be an Expert: Prepare food according to item specifications; understand and plan future productions and mass productions; prepare for seasonality; adhere to food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, cold chain compliance, and inventory management.
  • Be a Techie: Leverage digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement; utilize hand-held technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, training, and product quality with the member in mind.
  • Be an Owner: Drive the performance of the area; manage high exposure and expectations; stock and rotate merchandise; ensure quality and date control standards; eliminate waste; guide peers and provide attention to customer needs.
  • Be a Talent Ambassador: Advocate for the department and the club by valuing the member's experience in the meat area and modeling high-quality service and products; execute the basics at the highest possible level of quality; exhibit energy, commitment, and passion for the work.

Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans and using the Open Door Policy. Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carrying out tasks; communicating progress and information; and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback.

At Sam's Club, we offer competitive pay as well as performance-based incentive awards and other great benefits for a happier mind, body, and wallet! The hourly wage range for this position is $17.00 to $24.00. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances.

Minimum Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older.

Preferred Qualifications: Food Service and Food Handler Certification (Food Safety).
