Job Description

We are looking for a culinary leader to oversee the daily kitchen operations at The Resort at Pelican Hill. This role is accountable for the overall success of the kitchen, exhibiting culinary talents while managing all food-related functions. You will work to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget.

The position involves supervising all kitchen areas to ensure a consistent, high-quality product is produced. You will be responsible for guiding and developing staff, including direct reports, while ensuring sanitation and food standards are achieved.

As a candidate, you should possess a high school diploma or GED with a minimum of four years of experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area. Alternatively, a two-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major along with two years of experience will also be considered.

This role includes leading the culinary team by utilizing interpersonal and communication skills to encourage others, advocating sound financial decision-making, and demonstrating honesty and integrity. You will be responsible for supervising daily operations, understanding employee roles, ensuring productivity, and maintaining collaborative relationships within the team.

Additionally, you will ensure compliance with all Food & Beverage policies and standards, manage food handling and sanitation, and assist the Executive Chef with kitchen operations. This includes maintaining purchasing, receiving, and food storage standards while preparing and cooking various food items.

Exceptional customer service is paramount, as you will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations to meet customer expectations and improve service performance. Empowering employees to provide excellent customer service is essential in this position.

In this role, you will also focus on achieving and exceeding performance goals, managing payroll administration, and participating in employee development activities. Your ability to analyze information, solve problems, and participate in meetings will contribute to the overall success of the kitchen.

The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $104,000 annually, with various benefits and incentives outlined above.
