Job Description

We are looking for a Banquet Chef to join our team at W Hollywood. This position is accountable for the overall success of daily kitchen operations. You will exhibit your culinary talents by personally performing tasks while leading the staff and managing all food-related functions. Your goal is to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget.

Your responsibilities include supervising all kitchen areas to ensure a consistent, high-quality product is produced. You will also be responsible for guiding and developing staff, including direct reports, while ensuring sanitation and food standards are achieved.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

You should have a high school diploma or GED, with 4 years of experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or a related professional area. Alternatively, you may have a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major, along with 2 years of experience in the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

  • Ensuring Culinary Standards And Responsibilities Are Met: Manage kitchen shift operations and ensure compliance with all Food & Beverage policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Estimate daily production needs and communicate those needs to kitchen personnel.
  • Assist the Executive Chef with all kitchen operations and preparation.
  • Develop, design, or create new applications, ideas, relationships, systems, or products.

Leading Kitchen Operations: Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation. Lead shifts while personally preparing food items and executing requests.

Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service: Provide services that exceed customer satisfaction expectations. Manage day-to-day operations while setting a positive example for guest relations.

Maintaining Culinary Goals: Achieve and exceed performance, budget, and team goals. Train employees in safety procedures and effectively schedule to business demands.

Managing and Conducting Human Resource Activities: Identify the developmental needs of others and provide coaching and mentoring. Participate in the employee performance appraisal process.

Additional Responsibilities: Provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates. Attend and participate in all pertinent meetings.

The salary range for this position is $68,000 to $91,000 annually.
