Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and skilled part-time cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, a positive attitude, and the ability to work within a team in a fast-paced environment. This position is part-time hourly and pays between $16.00-$20.00 per hour, plus tips. This job posting will expire on 12/31/2024.

Responsibilities include:

  • Cooking and packaging food products which are prepared to order or kept warm until sold.
  • Maintaining quality and production standards on all menu items.
  • Ensuring food is fresh and of high quality when served to guests.
  • Responsible for portion control and serving temperatures of all products.
  • Cleaning, stocking, and restocking of workstations.
  • Operating large-volume cooking equipment such as grills, deep-fat fryers, and ovens.
  • Ensuring all work areas and equipment are clean, food products are properly stored, utensils are clean and put away, and the floor is swept and mopped at the end of the shift.
  • Maintaining sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
  • Preparing and cooking menu items according to recipes and standards.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen workspace.
  • Ensuring food safety and sanitation practices are followed.
  • Collaborating with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service.
  • Helping with inventory management.
  • Communicating with the Sous Chef when supplies need to be ordered.

The successful candidate must possess the ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff, and guests in a clear, business-like, and respectful manner, focusing on generating a positive, enthusiastic, and cooperative work environment. Additionally, the candidate must have the ability to speak, read, and write in English and work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is required.
