Job Description

Aloy Modern Thai is seeking a professional who can help prepare meals as per our standard recipes.

LINE COOK

Full-time | Part-time $17-23 an hour (based on experience/performance)

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating meal portions and cooking meals while keeping a sanitized work area. We are seeking an individual who has experience in the food service industry and is committed to impeccable food presentation and garnishing, which is important for impressing our guests and creating repeat business. Daily routine includes setting up and stocking product, cooking and presenting dishes, cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining equipment, utensils, and tools according to the Aloy Thai Standards.

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • Holidays
  • Overtime
  • Weekends

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

  • ASIAN CUISINE: 2 years (Preferred)
  • Restaurant Experience: 2 years (Preferred)

PREP COOK

Full-time | Part-time $17-20 an hour

Responsibilities for Prep Cook:

  • Assist the head chef by chopping vegetables and washing food items.
  • Ensure kitchen equipment and appliances are ready for use.
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment at all times.
  • Prepare salads, breads, salad dressings, and sauces.
  • Gather food ingredients from the refrigerator or freezer as required by the chef.
  • Ensure food is stored away properly when not in use.
  • Study the menu and prepare ingredients ahead of schedule.
  • Learn about the cooking methods and techniques employed in the kitchen.

Qualifications for Prep Cook:

  • Experience working as a prep cook in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong multitasking and organizational skills.
  • Good understanding of ingredients, recipes, kitchen safety, and hygiene.
  • Passionate about culinary arts and creative cooking.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiar with general kitchen equipment and appliances.
  • Able to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
  • Able to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physically able to stand and move around for long periods of time.

6 months restaurant experience preferred.

Ability to work effectively within a team. Must be able to work quickly in a confined area and stand for extended periods of time. Basic English reading and communication skills. Strong attention to detail. Knowledge of weights, measurements, volume, and cooking procedures. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. as needed. Ability to work in elevated temperatures. Continuous mobility of use hands and arms. Continuous mobility of bending, reaching, and twisting.
