The Cook II reports to the Sous Chef and Lead Line Cook. The position is responsible for hot and cold plate presentation in a front and back line kitchen, as well as other general duties typical to a commercial kitchen environment. This is a night shift position, with a schedule likely from 7 or 8pm to 3 or 4am. Common duties include:

• Deep frying.
• Broiling.
• Sauté.
• Griddle.
• Cold food assembly.
• Advance preparation.

Essentially, the cook produces orders supplied by a food server and completes all orders in a consistent manner.

• Ability to stand for 8 hours or more.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
• Familiarity with kitchen activities and food preparation techniques.
• Understanding of food safety.
• Minimum 1 year of kitchen or food preparation experience or a culinary degree.
• High School Degree (or equivalent) preferred.
• Effective communication in English, both written and verbal.
• Basic mathematical, reasoning, and organizational skills.
