Job Description

As a Prep Cook, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients and components to be used for meal preparation. Your responsibilities include:

  • Adhering to all HACCP guidelines regarding the requisition, storage, handling and preparation of food as well as in the sanitation and maintenance of work area.
  • Supporting the production of meals for distribution to patients, the cafeteria, physicians and catering services.
  • Performing washing, cutting, chopping, and measuring of ingredients, and other tasks as requested by the Executive Chef.
  • Utilizing a wide range of kitchen tools, equipment, and utensils.

The role requires a strong emphasis on customer service, food safety, and maintaining high standards of behavior. You will need to demonstrate competency in accountability, hand hygiene, and kitchen sanitation.

There are no specific degree requirements for this position, but food service experience is preferred. The complexity of work requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Working conditions may require bending, climbing, kneeling, lifting, and pushing in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

This position is scheduled for days.
