The Cook prepares and serves quality meals for patients in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Life Care standards.
Essential Functions include preparing and serving meals that are appetizing in both taste and appearance, and appropriate for each patient. The Cook should be knowledgeable of ordered diets as well as food consistency, ensuring food and supplies for the next meal are readily available. Meals and snacks should be served in a timely manner utilizing production tools and recipes provided.
The Cook is expected to exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients, assist in the evacuation of patients, and demonstrate dependable, regular attendance. The role requires the ability to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment while communicating and functioning productively on an interdisciplinary team.
Physical demands include sitting, standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, reaching, and moving intermittently during working hours. Additionally, the Cook must read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
