As a Prep Cook, you will prepare ingredients and components to be used for meal preparation. Your responsibilities will include:

• Adhering to all HACCP guidelines regarding the requisition, storage, handling and preparation of food as well as in the sanitation and maintenance of the work area.
• Supporting the production of meals for distribution to patients, the cafeteria, physicians and catering services.
• Performing washing, cutting, chopping, measuring of ingredients, and other tasks as requested by the Executive Chef.
• Utilizing a wide range of kitchen tools, equipment, and utensils.

Required competencies include accountability, customer service, food preparation, food safety, hand hygiene, kitchen sanitation, patient and family centered care, responding to change, and standards of behavior.

Education and certification requirements include no degree or any other education earned (Required).

The complexity of work requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Working conditions involve various physical requirements such as bending, stooping, climbing, lifting, and pushing or pulling weights as specified in the job description.

This position works the day shift.
