Job Description

CCL Hospitality Group is seeking an Executive Chef to join our dynamic team. This position is based in Chicago, IL, and offers a salary of $90,000 - $95,000 along with a $5,000 signing bonus and benefits.

The Executive Chef will be an inspirational and organized leader who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves to ensure the overall success of daily kitchen operations including recruiting, training, and food preparation. The role involves:

  • Leading daily culinary production, ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
  • Determining food presentation and creating decorative food displays.
  • Providing direction on menu development based on product availability.
  • Researching customer preferences to develop a menu that incorporates local foods and flavors.
  • Preparing and cooking foods for regular and special guests or functions.
  • Supervising and coordinating activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation.

Additionally, the Executive Chef will contribute to business strategies and manage department controllable expenses including food costs, supplies, uniforms, and equipment. Responsibilities also include:

  • Analyzing financial and operational information to adjust business plans and operating costs.
  • Developing and managing the department's budget.
  • Controlling food cost, labor, and other expenses.
  • Overseeing food inventory, purchasing, and disbursement of food supplies.

Ensuring exceptional customer service is also a critical aspect of this role. The Executive Chef will:

  • Create 100% resident satisfaction by providing team members with necessary training and resources.
  • Communicate effectively and improve service by understanding guest needs.
  • Review resident satisfaction results and develop strategies for improvement.

Team building and management are essential, and the Executive Chef will be responsible for:

  • Leading team meetings and establishing performance goals.
  • Soliciting employee feedback and addressing concerns.
  • Providing coaching and counseling to achieve performance objectives.
