The Executive Chef will be an inspirational and organized leader who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves to ensure the overall success of daily kitchen operations, including recruiting, training, and food preparation. Responsibilities include:

• Leading daily culinary production in meal preparation and production.
• Ensuring food quality and presentation.
• Compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
• Providing direction on menu development based on product availability.
• Preparing and cooking foods of all types.
• Supervising and coordinating activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation.
• Communicating the importance of safety procedures.

The role also involves business and financial acumen, requiring participation in the development and implementation of business strategies aligned with the client’s overall mission. Key tasks include:

• Managing department controllable expenses.
• Developing and implementing guidelines and control procedures.
• Analyzing financial and operational information.
• Controlling food cost, labor, and other expenses.

• A.S. or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience.
• Extensive catering experience.
• High volume, complex foodservice operations experience.
• Institutional and batch cooking experiences.
• Hands-on chef experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), Outlook, E-mail, and the Internet.
• ServSafe certification (highly desirable).
