As a Banquet Porter, you are responsible to set up, clean, and maintain meeting and banquet rooms following the standards of service as set by hotel management. Banquets bring guests together in one of our spectacular ballrooms, modern boardrooms, or an amphitheater under the stars. With a gorgeous private beach, cascading waterfalls, serene gardens, lush lawns, and expansive ocean views, Fairmont Orchid offers a diverse and dynamic setting with 110,000 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor space.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Ensure a positive first impression of banquet events for our guests through detailed cleanliness, set-up, and ambiance control.
  • Properly clean and set meeting rooms and banquet functions per specifications or as given by banquet management.
  • Proper care, movement, and storage of all equipment such as tables, chairs, risers, and dance floor lecterns.
  • Service every meeting room by emptying trash, removing dirty plates, cups, linens, and glasses, and replace as necessary.
  • Keep service corridors, pre-function space, and storage areas clean, organized, and unobstructed.
  • Upon customer request, locate and deliver convention material to designated locations.
  • Perform other duties as requested, such as moving furniture in and about the hotel.
  • Assist other Food & Beverage outlets with their operations during peak times or when required.
  • Apply necessary precautions regarding the hotel food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP).
  • Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.

Your experience and skills include:

  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
  • Good reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English language.
  • Ability to speak other languages and basic understanding of local languages will be an advantage.
  • Ability to work cohesively and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Detailed & service-oriented with an eye for detail to be self-motivated and energetic.
  • Provide the necessary State and Federal Requirements to work in Food and Beverage (Tuberculosis Clearance).
  • Additional certification(s) in Food & Beverage will be an advantage (Blue Liquor Card).
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Visa Requirements: Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining U.S. work authorization.
