We are looking for an Assistant Cook at PH Miller School to serve students warm, attractive, and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness, and friendliness.

The Assistant Cook will attend work regularly, dress appropriately, request approval for time off, and report for work on time. This role involves reporting daily to the Head Cook for a list of assigned duties and assisting in the preparation of food on the daily menu in accordance with Health Department standards.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing the serving station for lunch and presenting food in an appealing manner.
• Assisting in the preparation, serving, and clean-up of foods and equipment promptly and pleasantly.
• Serving all staff and students in a kind, courteous, and polite manner.
• Following the standardized menu and portion control guidelines.
• Assisting with any extra activities needed by the Food Service Department.
• Helping with ordering food products and communicating with the Head Cook when items are needed.
• Serving food during lunch services and refilling food items quickly and accurately.
• Completing any cleaning assigned by the Head Cook.
• Assisting with checking food purchases and recording meal purchases as assigned.
• Demonstrating cooperation and willingness to improve conditions involving staff and students.
• Performing other related food service tasks as assigned by the Head Cook, Principal, and/or Food Service Director.
