You enjoy providing outstanding service and producing high-quality nutrition. The Cook’s role is preparing and serving attractive and tasty meals for the community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare meals and snacks that are appealing and tasty and served at the right temperature per the menu and schedule.
- Prepare special limited diets per policy and physician orders.
- Identify menu errors and make appropriate corrections as needed, bringing the necessary changes to the Culinary Director’s / Executive Chef’s attention.
- Properly store, date, and rotate food per food handling guidelines.
- Follow kitchen cleaning schedule.
- Relate to residents in a courteous, empathetic, and cooperative manner.
- Keep environment safe and clean.
- Perform as a Culinary Aid or Dishwasher in addition to their duties as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Job Requirements:
- Must be an honest and dependable individual.
- Must maintain proper hygiene.
- Must be professional in dress and presentation.
- Must be willing to be active during entire work shift.
- Must be a mature individual.
- Must attend required in-services/workshops to further education of skills and community requirements.
- Must be drug-free and submit to urinalysis drug screening upon hire and routinely.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check upon hire and as required by state regulations.
Physical Demands:
- Regularly required to talk and hear.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.
