Job Description

CCL Hospitality Group is seeking an Executive Chef who is an inspirational and organized leader, not afraid to roll up their sleeves to ensure the overall success of daily kitchen operations, including recruiting, training, and food preparation. The Executive Chef will showcase culinary talents through the delivery of show-quality food and personal involvement in task performance while developing and empowering the onsite staff.

The role involves leading daily culinary production, ensuring food quality and presentation, compliance with safety and sanitation standards, team member productivity, performance, cost controls, and overall profitability. Responsibilities include:

  • Determining food presentation and creating decorative food displays.
  • Providing direction on menu development based on product availability.
  • Maintaining product consistency through inspections of seasonings, portions, and appearance of food.
  • Preparing and cooking foods of all types for regular and special events.
  • Supervising and coordinating activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation.
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.

In terms of business and financial acumen, the Executive Chef will participate in developing business strategies aligned with the client’s overall mission. Duties include managing department controllable expenses, analyzing financial and operational information, and developing and managing the department's budget.

To ensure exceptional customer service, the Executive Chef will create 100% resident satisfaction by providing team members with the training and resources they need. Responsibilities also include:

  • Improving service by communicating and assisting individuals to understand guest needs.
  • Empowering employees to provide excellent customer service.
  • Responding to and handling guest problems and complaints.

Team building and management are crucial aspects of this role. The Executive Chef will regularly lead team member meetings, establish performance goals, and provide coaching and counseling as needed to achieve performance objectives.

Preferred qualifications include an A.S. or equivalent experience, hands-on chef experience, and a strong knowledge of food and catering trends.
