We are seeking a line cook for the Chevy Chase Country Club banquet/catering. Responsibilities include the preparation of food in accordance with established recipes and industry standards at the CCCC food and beverage department.
Essential Functions:
- Prepares an extensive variety of cold and hot food items utilizing standardized recipes and specified portions.
- Assists with set-up of the kitchen before shift and tear down at the end of the shift.
- Washes and cleans all utensils, preparation equipment, and counters required for production in the pantry area.
- Ensures that assigned work areas and equipment are maintained in a safe and sanitary condition at all times.
- Consistently complies with all state, local, and agency laws/policies regarding the sale and disposition of alcoholic beverages.
- Assumes other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Performs the job safely and in compliance with Park District policies, procedures, work and safety rules.
- Supports and exhibits the established organizational values of respect, communication, integrity, innovation, recognition, continuous learning, fun, empowerment, and people.
- Works as scheduled.
Rate Of Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
Hours: 20 - 28 hours a week
Marginal Functions:
- Performs other duties or special projects as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Capable of working extended hours, to include weekends and holidays as necessary.
- Able to see well enough to read faint or partially obscured writing or printing, with corrective lenses if needed.
- Must be able to speak English in a clear and understandable voice for effective communication.
- Position involves kneeling, stopping, bending, pushing, shoving, lifting, carrying, and moving objects up to 60 lbs throughout the day.
- This position will alternate between working indoors in a controlled climate and outdoors with variable climate and lighting.
- Must be able to interact with all types of individuals, be mentally alert, detail-oriented, and possess good reasoning skills.
- Must be able to adapt to marked changes in temperature.
- Must be able to transport oneself throughout the project site, including the golf course, golf shop, Gable Room, Devonshire, and Grand Ballroom.
Environmental Requirements:
- Must have sufficient mathematical skills to accommodate cashier functions.
- Must be able to work on multiple assignments with frequent interruptions, changes, and delays.
- Must remain focused and work effectively, efficiently, and cheerfully under such circumstances.
- Must be able to work in a well-lighted, temperature-controlled area sufficient in size to accomplish tasks, with exposure to outdoor elements.
