Job Description

Creative Dining Services is looking for Prep Cooks at the Kraft-Heinz Dining Center in Champaign, IL. This role will help prepare menu items for cafeteria service daily, with a focus on pizzas and paninis, hot sandwiches, etc. You will work cooperatively as a valued member of our dining services team, assisting with any aspect of the dining services program necessary and helping to provide a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience for workers from all over the Kraft campus.

Availability: weekdays, multiple shift schedules available!

First shift: 5:30am to 1:30pm (full time)

Second shift: 2:00pm to 7:30pm (part time)

Third shift/nights: 10:00pm to 4:00am (part time or full time)

Core Responsibilities:

  • Prepare food items according to established recipes and menus in a manner in which preserves food freshness, quality and appeal.
  • Utilize batch cooking techniques to avoid over or under production.
  • Utilize safe food handling, holding and storage techniques at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, safe work environment at all times.
  • Support other kitchen employees in assuring that the essential functions of the kitchen are performed adequately and appropriately.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Minimum of 2 years cooking experience.
  • Prior experience with pizza-making is a plus.
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • ServSafe Certification.
