Job Description

As a Sous Chef at Avli, you will be instrumental in driving culinary excellence and leading our kitchen team. Your role involves overseeing daily kitchen operations, mentoring your team, and ensuring the consistent delivery of exceptional food quality and presentation.

Responsibilities:

  • Culinary Leadership: Lead and inspire the kitchen team to create extraordinary dining experiences. Foster a positive, collaborative work environment that embodies Avli's core values.
  • Menu Execution: Oversee the execution of our menu, ensuring adherence to recipes, portion control, and presentation standards. Continuously strive to elevate our culinary offerings.
  • Team Development: Hire, train, and develop a high-performing kitchen team. Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to enhance culinary skills and career growth.
  • Operational Excellence: Manage kitchen operations efficiently, including inventory control, ordering, food safety, and sanitation. Minimize waste and optimize labor costs.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain the highest standards of food quality and consistency. Conduct regular inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or senior station chef in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Extensive culinary knowledge and techniques, including knife skills, grilling, sautéing, sauce making, and soup preparation.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Passion for Greek cuisine and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
