CCL Hospitality Group is seeking an Executive Chef for a position based in Chicago, IL. The salary for this role ranges from $90,000 to $95,000, with an additional $5,000 signing bonus plus benefits. Relocation assistance is available.

The Executive Chef will be an inspirational and organized leader who is not afraid to roll up their sleeves to ensure the overall success of daily kitchen operations including recruiting, training, and food preparation. The role will showcase culinary talents through the delivery of show-quality food while developing and empowering the onsite staff. You will work to continually improve resident, employee, and client satisfaction while maximizing financial performance in all areas of responsibility. This includes delivering on company objectives by ensuring monthly budget, food, and labor costs are met, and the safe handling of food by following safety & sanitation protocols.
Leading Culinary Operations: You will lead daily culinary production in the preparation and production of meals, food quality and presentation, and compliance with all safety and sanitation standards and regulations. Responsibilities include determining how food should be presented, creating decorative food displays, providing direction on menu development, and maintaining product consistency.
Business & Financial Acumen: Participate in developing and implementing business strategies aligned with the client’s mission. Manage department controllable expenses, develop and implement guidelines for purchasing and receiving areas, and analyze financial data to adjust business plans and operating costs.
Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service: Create 100% resident satisfaction by equipping team members with the necessary training and resources. Improve service by understanding guest needs and providing guidance and feedback.
Team Building and Management: Regularly lead team member meetings, establish goals, solicit employee feedback, and develop strategies that support team member engagement and fair treatment.
Preferred Qualifications: An A.S. or equivalent experience is required, along with a minimum of 5 years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience. High volume, complex foodservice operations experience is highly desirable, along with hands-on chef experience and comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends. Experience with computers is essential, and ServSafe certification is highly desirable.
