Kitchen Leader at Perkins Restaurant & Bakery

Perkins Restaurant & Bakery, founded in 1958, operates 324 restaurants in 32 states and four Canadian provinces. We're committed to providing guests with personalized service and delicious, homestyle food at a great value. We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Kitchen Leader to join our team.

Responsibilities

  • Work cooperatively with the Kitchen Manager to maintain budget compliance and identify ways to improve operational efficiency.
  • Keep the General Manager/Kitchen Manager informed of problems, issues, and proposed alternative solutions.
  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Monitor and oversee food temperatures to prevent foodborne illness.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain clear communication with vendors regarding restaurant equipment and supplies.
  • Conduct thorough walk-throughs and temperature checks in the kitchen.
  • Assist in ordering food, produce, beverages, and restaurant supplies.
  • Assist in receiving deliveries and verify paperwork to ensure proper receipt of items.
  • Perform all functions of kitchen operations.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in sanitation, safety, and customer service practices, with in-house training provided.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Physical Requirements

  • High level of mobility and flexibility.
  • Ability to work irregular hours, under stress during peak times.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • High level of coordination.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for distances up to 30 feet.
  • Ability to fit through openings 30" wide.
  • Frequent reaching, bending, pushing, and pulling.
  • Exposure to heat, steam, smoke, cold, and odors.
  • Continual standing and walking.

Compensation: $15.50 - $21.00 per hour
