Job Description

The Market Grille Cook is responsible for providing prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service while preparing various foods for the Market Grille, handling all hot and cold food items.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all customer interactions.
  • Greets customers in a friendly manner and assists them in locating products.
  • Answers phones promptly and provides helpful service to callers.
  • Prepares the cooking surfaces and menu items including vegetables, sides, meats, and breakfast foods.
  • Maintains cleanliness and proper sanitation in the work area.
  • Adheres to company policies and guidelines related to hygiene and dress.

Secondary Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct customer service as needed.
  • Orders products and supplies as necessary.
  • Assists in other areas of the store as needed.
  • Performs other job-related duties and special projects as required.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And Worker Characteristics:

  • Ability to solve practical problems with a variety of variables.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions.

Education And Experience:

  • High school or equivalent experience.
  • Six months or less of similar or related work experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
  • Visual requirements include depth perception and color vision.
  • Must be able to perform various physical activities including climbing, balancing, and lifting.

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to cool and warm environments, dampness, and noise from equipment.
  • Fast-paced work environment with potential equipment movement hazards.

Equipment Used To Perform Job:

  • Grill, toaster, coffee machine, fryer, flat top stove, oven, steamer, chopper, hot case, kitchen utensils, knives, stove, chicken roaster, can opener, and C.A.R.S. reordering system.
