Job Description

At Wichita Country Club, we are committed to providing a quality dining experience to all our guests. We're searching for an experienced line cook to join our culinary team and help prepare menu items under the guidance of our Executive & Sous Chefs. As a line cook, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting hot dishes such as pastas, appetizers, steaks, burgers, etc. The line cook will play a vital role in upholding our food safety and cleanliness standards. In addition, the line cook will assist in preparing menu items, sanitizing equipment and plating meals. The ideal candidate will have excellent culinary skills, be able to work well under pressure and have a passion for creating delicious dishes. Wichita Country Club is committed to creating memorable and delicious food experiences for our guests, and we recognize that having talented staff is essential to achieving this goal.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook menu items such as sauces, appetizers, sides, and entrees.
  • Set up and stock stations with necessary ingredients and supplies.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen areas.
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure the highest standards of food hygiene.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient food preparation and service.
  • Monitor inventory levels and notify the kitchen manager when supplies need to be reordered.
  • Assist in the training and mentoring of new kitchen staff.
  • Adhere to portion control and waste management practices.
  • Handle and store food products correctly and safely.
  • Adapt to changes in the menu or special requests from guests as needed.
  • Prepare ingredients and set up your work station according to par sheets or instructions that are up to the Executive Chef's standards.
  • Cook and assemble dishes assigned to your station during service.
  • Follow club recipes and standards to ensure high-quality food preparation.
  • Maintain consistent presentation and flavor in all dishes prepared at your station.

  • Proven experience as a Line Cook or in a similar role within a high-volume kitchen.

  • Attention to detail in food presentation and quality control.

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and recipes.

  • Strong time management skills.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
