As a Cook, you will prepare and serve food, including texture modified and therapeutic diets following facility menus, current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations. You will assist in assuring proper receiving, storage, preparation, serving, sanitation, and cleaning procedures are followed. In the absence of the Dining Services Director, you will also support Dietary Aide as necessary and direct other employees with approval.

You will utilize protective gear in all appropriate functions and be responsible for the safe and proper mixing and use of cleaning solutions while adhering to all safety precautions. Reporting equipment/cleaning product needs and/or malfunctions to your supervisor in a timely fashion is essential. Ensure the established standards, safety, and quality guidelines are met while following infection control and universal precautions policies and procedures.

Consistent attendance and punctual arrival are required, along with timely completion of assigned cleaning areas according to schedule. Positively represent HCSG by following instructions and being courteous and cooperative with supervisors, co-workers, and client staff. You will engage in positive, pleasant, and tactful interactions with residents, staff, and facility guests.

To qualify, you should demonstrate a positive attitude, follow instructions, and perform routine tasks daily. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, along with experience in food preparation. You must be able to work as scheduled and on time and live in the service area.
