Houchens Food Group is hiring a Crew Member for Sonic Drive-In. The general purpose of this position is to perform crew member duties as directed and assigned by the Manager On Duty. Duties include, but are not limited to, order taking, carhop, skating carhop, food and drink preparation, cooking, packaging food, serving food to guests, sales transactions, and cleaning of equipment as well as all areas of the building and grounds. The duties are to be performed in a safe, efficient, and professional manner so that guests will have an enjoyable experience at the Sonic Drive-In.

Essential Job Duties:

• Perform all duties in the Basic Stations (Fountain & Frozen, Dresser, Front Swamp, Back Swamp, Grill, Switchboard, Expeditor, Food Prep, Carhop, Skating Carhop, and Drive-Thru as needed).
• Give team help and support to other crew and managers when assigned duties are caught up.
• Operate switchboard and record customer orders, repeating orders in a clear and understandable manner.
• Operate Drive-Thru window and sales register, making accurate change quickly and efficiently.
• Prepare fountain drinks and ice cream items.
• Prepare food by cutting and chopping food items and cooking on the grill or in fryers.
• Package menu items into bags or trays and place drink orders into drink carriers.
• Serve food to customers efficiently in the Drive-Thru and other Basic Stations as necessary.
• Move food product weighing up to 50 lbs into freezer and shelves.
• Routinely dispose of trash by transporting bags outside into dumpsters.
• Clean all areas of the drive-in, including sweeping, mopping, washing dishes, and sanitizing.
• Perform frequent washing and sanitizing of food areas, food preparation tools, and hands.

Additional Duties:

• Instruct crew members about the importance of placing guests' needs first.
• Immediately respond to guest requests in a respectful manner and report guest complaints to an immediate supervisor.
• Report all guest or employee accidents to a member of the drive-in management team.
• Monitor the drive-in working environment for potential employee issues and report them to management.
• Wear the required uniform and appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned or required.

General Qualifications and Job Requirements:

• Ability to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Compliance with all Sonic Drive-In Policies and Procedures, and all health and sanitation laws and regulations.
• Successful completion of all STAR certification and training programs.
• Continuous standing, bending, stooping, lifting, stretching, and frequent overhead lifting will be required.
• General knowledge and understanding of the restaurant industry or retail operations required; QSR preferred.

Environment:

• Frequent exposure to heat and hot liquid shortening while cooking.
• Frequent exposure to the freezer when stocking food items.
• Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures based on variable weather conditions.
