We’re looking for a skilled Culinary Cook (CC) to prepare and serve meals for residents, ensuring timely service, regulatory compliance, and a fine dining experience. Essential Duties:
- Prepare palatable, attractive, nutritionally adequate meals in batches ensuring proper temperature.
- Taste all food before serving to residents to ensure the food is good quality and palatable.
- Cover all hot plates and place under a heat lamp for delivery; cover and place cold plates in a designated area, ensuring all are served at the proper temperature.
- Plan menus and prepare seasonally inspired meals, including any special dietary requirements.
- Monitor and record food temperatures at each meal.
- Frequently taste and adjust food for proper appearance, flavor, smell, and consistency.
- Plan Chef’s Choice items to be served daily, verifying selection with Culinary Director as requested.
- Supervise servers to prepare food, clean, and store supplies and equipment.
- Oversee servers as they complete resident checklists and communicate to ensure residents’ needs are met.
- Assist in receiving and storage of deliveries from vendors.
- Maintain a clean food service work area as food preparation and service is in process.
Work Experience Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must have completed all ServSafe educational requirements.
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and computer skills.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and professionalism, and be a positive leader.
- Demonstrate practical interpersonal skills as well as sound judgment and good decision-making skills.
- Maintain good working relationships with residents and co-workers.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
- Ability to lift, push, or pull 50 pounds and bend, twist, stoop, kneel, and reach and sit for long periods.
- Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned.
