The position of Cook involves preparing and serving food, including texture modified and therapeutic diets, following facility menus and applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations. Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in assuring proper receiving, storage, preparation, serving, sanitation, and cleaning procedures.
  • Utilizing protective gear in all appropriate functions.
  • Reporting equipment/cleaning product needs or malfunctions to the supervisor.
  • Ensuring established standards, safety, and quality guidelines are met.
  • Maintaining positive interactions with residents, staff, and facility guests.

Qualifications for the role include:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience in food preparation is preferred.
  • Must be able to perform routine, repetitive tasks continuously.
  • Must be able to work around food and cleaning products.
  • Must live in the service area.
