As a Cook on our team, you'll play a vital role in preparing meals that contribute to our residents' health and happiness. This position requires attention to detail, a collaborative spirit, and a caring approach to food preparation in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare meals according to menu specifications, paying close attention to dietary restrictions and nutritional requirements.
  • Follow recipes precisely, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish.
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work station, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Properly store and rotate food items to minimize waste and maintain freshness.
  • Assist in portioning and plating meals with care and attention to presentation.
  • Communicate effectively with dietary staff regarding meal preparations and special requests.
  • Participate in menu planning discussions, offering creative and nutritious meal ideas.
  • Handle and operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Demonstrate genuine care for patients by preparing meals that meet their individual needs.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school training preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a line cook, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to read and follow recipes and dietary instructions accurately.
  • Excellent attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
  • Good physical stamina to stand for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
