The essential job functions include preparing and portioning various food items with the highest quality. Responsibilities also encompass:

• Wrapping, labeling, and dating prepared food items for storage.
• Receiving, storing, and rotating supplies as delivered.
• Preparing meals in accordance with planned menus.
• Checking food storage areas daily to ensure proper food rotation.
• Using and cleaning cooking and food preparation equipment.
• Orienting, motivating, supervising, and evaluating employees of the production and kitchen component according to established standards.
• Responsible for general and assigned sanitation duties in the kitchen and dining areas in conformance with sanitary, health, and safety regulations.
• Maintaining a rapport with other departments to assure that food service meets resident needs.
• Maintaining confidentiality of all pertinent resident information.
• Reporting exposure to blood, body fluids, and hazardous chemicals to the Director of Food & Nutrition Services.
• Preparing food in accordance with sanitary regulations and established policies.
• Demonstrating a courteous and responsible attitude toward staff, residents, and visitors.
• Working effectively with other staff members to provide a smooth functioning community.
• Demonstrating the ability to work with little supervision.
