Join our team of competent and compassionate professionals as a Cook at the Dorchester Family Center, a program within Behavioral Health Network!

Your experience, knowledge, and great skills will support the Family Center with the following:

• Adhering to kitchen compliance standards set by the Department of Public Health.
• Maintaining a clean and sanitary food preparation environment.
• Ordering food, planning menus, and preparing nutritious and healthy meals for the individuals served using clear and appropriate communication to all parties.
• Transporting food to other sites, as needed.
• Maintaining their ServSafe certification.
• Learning how to work independently, manage a food budget, do menu planning, and maintain a kitchen to DPH standards and regulations.

Who are we?

The Dorchester Family Center provides long-term residential family substance use treatment for women and their children of all ages, from newborns to teens. The diverse experienced team at the Dorchester Family Center provides a variety of services including individual and group counseling, therapy and psycho-educational groups, individualized treatment plans, and medical and mental health referrals, among others. Our goal is to provide a safe and sober living environment to allow successful family reunification and long-term family stabilization.

What are we looking for in a Cook?

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent (required).
• Food preparation experience in a program (preferred).
• ServSafe certification (preferred).
• Valid Driver's License (preferred).
• Vehicle for use during all working hours should be registered and inspected in accordance with 540 CMR 4.00 (preferred).
• Commitment to client empowerment and growth, human rights, and community integration.
• Familiarity with internet, word processing, and email systems (required).
