What You Will Be Doing:

  • Overseeing daily production of pastries, breads, and catering/event items.
  • Managing and mentoring a team of culinary staff, including hiring, training, and scheduling.
  • Collaborating with ownership to conceptualize, test, and roll out new recipes and menu items.
  • Maintaining inventory, placing vendor orders, and managing supplier relationships.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Representing the brand as an ambassador through social media features and industry events.
  • Collaborating on seasonal menu updates to keep offerings dynamic and exciting.

What You Won’t Be Doing:

  • Managing front-of-house operations or customer relations.
  • Handling financial tasks unrelated to inventory or kitchen operations.

Head Pastry Chef Key Responsibilities: You will have the opportunity to showcase your mastery of traditional French pastries, from viennoiserie and pâte brisée to entremets and macarons. As a leader in the kitchen, you’ll set production levels, ensure recipe consistency, and inspire your team to excel.

Basic Requirements:

  • Previous culinary experience, with mastery of French pastry techniques.
  • Leadership experience managing kitchen operations and staff.
  • A degree in culinary arts or commensurate industry experience.
  • Food safety certification as regulated by Connecticut state law.
  • Passion for innovation, collaboration, and superb presentation.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
