Ebenezer offers a robust compensation package with excellent benefits and wages ranging from $20.68 - $26 per hour. Wage determinations will be based on similar experience.

The Pillars of Grand Rapids Senior Living is looking for a Cook/Chef to join our new Assisted Living/Memory Care culinary team! This casual schedule position is responsible for preparing and cooking meals as assigned using standardized recipes to meet established culinary standards of high-quality care. The role will plate food for optimal eye appeal to entice food consumption by our residents in our Senior Living Community located in Grand Rapids, MN.

Conveniently located near Highways 2, 169, and adjacent to Grand Itasca Clinic & Hospital, it provides peace of mind with a high standard of medical care nearby. The beautiful scenery of the Mississippi River and the Sylvan trailhead are just a few of these cities' perks. Managed by Ebenezer, our community will provide independent senior living, assisted living, and memory care. We offer an age-in-place model, where our residents choose apartments and services based on their needs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparation of meals by following standardized recipes.
  • Handling and preparing food in a safe manner following policies and infection control and safety standards.
  • Ensuring timely production and meal service is provided to residents.
  • Setting up line service.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing equipment and work area after each use.
  • Assisting with special events.
  • Assisting Culinary Director with supervision and training of culinary staff.
  • Performing other duties as assigned and directed.

  • ServSafe certification or must obtain within 90 days.

  • Preferred: Vocational/technical training or degree.
  • Preferred: Cooking experience in a similar environment.
  • Preferred: Scratch cooking experience.
