Ebenezer is looking for a Cook/Chef to join our Assisted Living team at Amira Choice Champlin. This flexible schedule position is responsible for preparing and cooking meals as assigned using standardized recipes to meet established culinary standards of high quality care. The culinary position will plate food for optimal eye appeal to entice food consumption by our residents in Champlin, MN.

This flexible schedule culinary services position includes casual/on call shifts, with a requirement to pick up at least 3 shifts per month, working 8 - 10 hour shifts.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparation of meals by following standardized recipes.
• Handling and preparing food in a safe manner following policies and infection control and safety standards.
• Ensuring timely production and meal service is provided to residents.
• Setting up line service.
• Cleaning and sanitizing equipment and work area after each use.
• Assisting with special events.
• Assisting the Culinary Director with supervision and training of culinary staff.

Required qualifications:

• ServSafe certification, or must be acquired within 90 days of start date.
• Basic math skills and comfortable using Microsoft applications.
• Must have good problem solving and time leadership skills.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Preferred qualifications:

• Vocational/technical training/education/degree.
• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Cooking experience in a similar environment.
• Scratch cooking experience.
