Job Description

We are seeking a Deli Cook to prepare ingredients, cook, package, accurately price, and display deli products in compliance with food safety policies and practices. You will support deli operations by cleaning, organizing, and sanitizing equipment and surfaces.

Essential Job Specific Duties And Responsibilities:

  • Provide services offered in the Deli area and respond promptly and politely to customer requests for assistance.
  • Process ingredients, rotate, store, and display designated products in accordance with established practices, priorities, and recipes.
  • Follow recipes to measure, process, cook, bake, and assemble ingredients according to department standards.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to department management on safety and staff performance.
  • Monitor food quality, record losses, and ensure compliance with safety and sanitation policies throughout preparation, storage, and display.
  • Wash, sanitize, and store cookware, utensils, and containers in accordance with established practices and priorities.
  • Maintain work stations and ensure cleanliness of department equipment, storage areas, and display areas.
  • Achieve WFC customer service standards for internal and external customers.
  • Contribute to an inclusive, respectful, and welcoming environment to support WFC's ENDS.

Essential Organization Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Abide by all WFC policies and procedures.
  • Engage in creating and maintaining a positive, ethical, and productive workplace that contributes to achieving progress on WFC's ENDS.
  • Follow and ensure compliance with all safety practices and policies.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory guidance including but not limited to Minnesota Department of Agriculture and National Organic Standards.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Achieve daily operational goals as directed by your supervisor.
  • Maintain cleanliness of department areas and equipment and communicate and document any equipment maintenance and/or safety concerns to department management.
  • Report any problems with systems, tools, and/or products to department supervisors.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by department management.
  • Assist customers in finding product and/or information, promptly and courteously answer and accurately route phone calls, messages, and customer requests in compliance with established practices.
  • As directed, move into back stock, rotate, stage, stock, and/or merchandise products in accordance with shift criteria.
  • Promote ownership and owner benefits consistently and positively.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with commercial food preparation including food safety, knife skills, and cooking equipment.
  • Current ServSafe certification.
  • Available to work evenings, weekends, holidays.
  • Customer service experience.

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to occasionally move up to 50 lbs. throughout shift.
  • Ability to repetitively move objects up to 15 lbs. throughout shift.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to move around the premises throughout shift.
  • Ability to operate position-required machinery.
  • Ability to do repetitive office tasks including, but not limited to, filing, using a computer keyboard, understanding information from a computer screen/LCD monitor, and written materials for the entirety of shift.
  • Ability to safely use sharp cutting instruments.

Work Environment:

  • Occasional Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Frequent Exposure to handling wet, hot, cold, and/or frozen products, wet and/or humid conditions, and changes in room temperatures.
  • Constant Exposure to background music and in-store pages, food odors, grain and spice dust, and food allergens.
