Job Description

We are looking for an experienced culinary manager to lead the banquet food preparation staff at The Ritz-Carlton St. Louis. In this role, you will be accountable for coordinating menus, purchasing, scheduling, food preparation, and plating for catering events. You will ensure a consistent, high-quality product with an appetizing presentation while improving guest and employee satisfaction and maintaining the operating budget. It is essential to meet sanitation and food standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in determining food presentation and create decorative displays.
  • Check the quality of raw and cooked food products.
  • Manage food quantities and plating requirements for all banquet functions.
  • Communicate production needs to key personnel and ensure performance expectations are clear.
  • Empower employees to provide excellent customer service and improve service quality.
  • Conduct training and ensure employees are cross-trained to support daily operations.

The salary range for this position is $69,000 to $83,000 annually. Marriott offers a bonus program and various benefits including health care, 401(k), employee stock purchase plan, paid time off, life insurance, and more.

  • 2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 2 years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related area.

  • Strong communication and team leadership skills.
  • Experience in managing food preparation and catering functions.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
