The Breakfast Cook in the Market Grille department is responsible for providing prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service. This role includes preparing various breakfast foods and managing both hot and cold food items, including heat-and-eat varieties.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides friendly customer service by treating customers with care and respect.
  • Greets customers and makes an effort to learn their names.
  • Assists customers in locating products and enhances their shopping experience.
  • Answers phone calls promptly and offers helpful service.
  • Works collaboratively with co-workers to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Prepares cooking surfaces and various breakfast foods.
  • Monitors food in hot cases and refills as necessary.
  • Maintains cleanliness and sanitation in the work area.
  • Adheres to company policies and guidelines.
  • Reports to work on time and as scheduled.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct customer service when necessary.
  • Orders products and supplies or notifies department head of needs.
  • Assists in other store areas as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Worker Characteristics:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions.
  • Basic math skills for counting and recording.
  • Ability to follow verbal or demonstrated instructions.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Six months or less of related work experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
  • Visual requirements include depth perception and color vision.
  • Must be able to perform various physical activities including climbing, balancing, and lifting.

Working Conditions:

  • Exposed to cool and warm environments, dampness, and noise.
  • Daily exposure to cleaning chemicals and solvents.
  • This is a fast-paced work environment.

Equipment Used to Perform Job:

  • Grill, toaster, coffee machine, oven, and other kitchen utensils.
