Job Description

Join our dynamic kitchen team at the Marriott St. Louis Grand, located along the mighty Mississippi River. We are seeking a Kitchen Manager who will be responsible for managing daily kitchen utility operations and staff.

Your responsibilities will include overseeing dish room operations, night cleaning, back dock cleaning and maintenance, as well as banquet plating and food running. You will supervise kitchen employees not actively engaged in cooking, such as dishwashers and kitchen helpers, while striving to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction within the operating budget.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary management, with either a high school diploma or GED and 4 years of relevant experience, or a 2-year degree in a related field along with 2 years of experience. You will be expected to:

  • Order and manage necessary supplies, ensuring all workers have the tools they need to do their jobs.
  • Schedule events, programs, and activities, as well as the work of others.
  • Conduct inventories of china, glass, silver, and food supplies, while controlling costs and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Lead, influence, and encourage kitchen staff, providing direction and support to meet departmental goals.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service and continuous improvement during daily operations.
