Job Description

A Cook is responsible for preparing all food items based on standardized recipes for the Restaurant/Dining Outlet, Cafe, Room Service, Employee Cafeteria, and Banquets while maintaining the highest standards to produce an appealing and appetizing product. He/she is also responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, sanitation, and safety in the kitchen and work areas while minimizing waste and maximizing cost/production ratio.

Responsibilities include:

  • Approaching all encounters with guests and associates in a friendly service-oriented manner.
  • Maintaining regular attendance in compliance with Aimbridge Hospitality standards.
  • Maintaining high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
  • Complying at all times with Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations.
  • Complying with certification requirements applicable to the position.
  • Maintaining a friendly and warm demeanor at all times.
  • Having thorough knowledge of menus and preparation required according to hotel standards.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of all storage areas.
  • Completing necessary food and station preparations prior to opening.
  • Preparing and displaying buffet food items according to standards.
  • Maintaining post on kitchen line during operating hours.
  • Preparing food for Banquets as required.
  • Preparing and servicing food for Associate Cafeteria.
  • Preparing all foods following standard recipes.
  • Breaking down buffets and kitchen line storing food and equipment properly.
  • Working banquet food station as scheduled.
  • Knowing the location and operation of all fire extinguishing equipment.
  • Practicing safe work habits at all times.
  • Being familiar with all hotel policies and house rules.
  • Using Production Charts as specified by standards.
  • Being attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to guests and associates.
  • Operating and maintaining cleanliness of all kitchen equipment.
  • Maintaining the "Clean As You Go" policy.
  • Assisting in storage and rotation of food items according to hotel procedures.
  • Attending meetings as required by management.
  • Performing any other duties as requested by management.
